Installation: To install the repair kit, first turn off the water supply, starting with the bottom ball valve. Ensure that both ball valves on the 765-1 are turned off. Turn the sprinkler controller on manually, then unscrew the top nut and remove the brass canopy. Take out the old Bonnet & Poppet, and if it's too tight, use a wrench. Then, reassemble the new parts by putting the new poppet inside and placing the O-Ring around the Bonnet. Thread the Bonnet into the PVB unit hand tight only. Replace the canopy and tighten the nut on top of the canopy using a wrench. Finally, open the water supply side ball valve first, and then the second ball valve.

Note: Do not force parts together. Parts should fit together freely. Excess force may cause damage and render the assembly inoperable. In most cases, tools are not necessary as hand tightening is enough. If you cannot tighten the bonnet part into the vacuum breaker, apply the included grease on threading, and use a proper tool to tighten if needed.

This Bonnet & Poppet kit is designed to break when ice forms inside the sprinkler system to protect the system from damage. To avoid damage during icing weather, drain and empty the water inside the sprinkler system in advance. This part acts as the last safety measure.

Compatibility: Please note that 1" and 1-1/4" are not the outside diameters of the bonnet parts. The outside diameter of this Bonnet and Poppetr Repair Kit is approximately 2" for FEBCO 765 model 1" and 1-1/4" valves. This is a replacement part for the original part number 905212 FRK 765-BP 1-1 1/4 bonnet poppet assembly.

Installation Instructions: Apply the included grease on both the threading of the bonnet part and bronze valve. First, close the outlet shutoff valve, then close the inlet shutoff valve, and drain the residual water completely. Unscrew the top nut and release the brass canopy. Take out the old Bonnet & Poppet parts and dispose of them. Put the new poppet inside the chamber and hand tighten the bonnet part clockwise into the vacuum breaker. Place the canopy onto the secured bonnet part by putting the bonnet column through the canopy hole. Tighten the top nuts back to secure the canopy.
